P&O Ferries dock up on the East Coast of Scotland

Robert Gordon, Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open Commercial Director, said.  “For spectators travelling from overseas and around the British Isles, P&O Ferries is the perfect way to travel. With no baggage limits and having the short travel time to Scotland, it is no wonder why so many people are turning to ferry travel.”

Sarah Rosier, Director of Passenger Sales at P&O Ferries, said; “P&O Ferries is delighted to have this opportunity to share with golf fans in the excitement brought by this world class golf event that is an annual highlight of Scotland’s sporting calendar.  We’re pleased to renew our support and be in such prestigious company.

“With no baggage limits ferry transport is a popular choice for many groups of golfers from across Ireland who annually set off to explore Scotland, the home of golf, with the added flexibility of taking their own car on the shortest, fastest and most frequent Irish Sea crossing.”

Once you step off the ferry and into the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, there are a host of activities for all the family with entertainment, children’s activities and food and drink outlets showcasing local produce, all complementing the world-class golfing action on Scotland’s Golf Coast.

This year’s tournament is supporting two official charities: The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and Leuchie House. My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was launched by one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities, Doddie Weir, and his trustees following his diagnosis with motor neurone disease to raise funds to aid research into the causes of the disease and investigate potential cures. Leuchie House, a charity local to Gullane Golf Club, is Scotland’s only dedicated respite centre and offers caring respite breaks to people with long term neurological conditions, including motor neurone disease.
