On the tee: at the Thailand Classic

This week we return to the beautiful Black Mountain Golf Club for the True Thailand Classic Presented by Chang, where a strong field has gathered.

Miguel Ángel Jiménez

The morning marquee group ofMiguel Ángel Jiménez,Thomas Pieters andThongchai Jaidee is full of character and European Tour wins, and is bound to attract plenty of attention from the locals when they get going at 08:10 from the tenth tee.

Jiménez, who finished tied seventh in Hua Hin last year, has had two weeks away from The European Tour so will be eager to get going again, while Pieters will be taking to the lush fairways of Black Mountain for the first time.

Meanwhile, Jaidee, who is Thailand’s most successful golfer of all time, will be looking to go one better this year in his home event, having finished in a tie for second place behind championAndrew Dodt last year.

Alexander Levy andJoost Luiten are in the next two groups out after the afternoon marquee three-ball, while big-hittersNicolas Colsaerts,Peter Uihlein and Scott Hend are also in action.
