On the tee: At the Made in Denmark

The Made in Denmark tournament returns for its fifth staging, with three of the four past champions in the field at a new venue – Silkeborg Golf Club.

Thomas Pieters on his way to victory in 2016

One of the past champions in the field is Belgian Thomas Pieters, who comes into the week in great form with memories of victory here in 2016. Despite this year's event moving to a new venue in Silkeborg, Pieters will be full of confidence on the back of three top tens in his last four starts.

He will play in a Ryder Cup themed group at 8.30am on Thursday alongside vice-captainLee Westwood and theThorbjorn Olesen, who currently holds the last spot in the automatic qualification places for Team Europe. The Dane will look to become the first home winner of this event.

One of the two players who can catch Olesen this week with a win isMatthew Fitzpatrick. The Englishman will get underway at 1.20pm in round one alongside another vice-captain inRobert Karlsson– who is also making his 600th appearance on the European Tour this week – and fellow EnglishmanMatt Wallace.

The only other player in the field who can qualify for the European team automatically is Eddie Pepperell, who will also require a win if he is to do so. He will have two days to impress CaptainThomas Bjorn, who he will play with as well Martin Kaymer at 1.30pm on Thursday.

Finally, John Daly features for a second consecutive week on the European Tour. The American always draws a crowd wherever he plays so look out for him in the 08:10 group, alongside local Dane Morten Ørum Madsen and Joachim B. Hansen.
