On the tee: at the D+D REAL Czech Masters

Defending champion Thomas Pieters will begin his bid for a second D+D REAL Czech Masters title alongside 2014 winnerJamie Donaldsonand 23-time European Tour championLee Westwoodwhen play starts on Thursday.

The Belgian, who has arrived in Prague on the back of a fourth place finish at the Olympic Men’s Golf Competition, shot rounds of 66-68-65-69 on his way to victory last year.

Joining him in a 0805 tee time on Thursday morning are former Ryder Cup duo Westwood, who is making his first appearance at this event, and Donaldson. The Welshman will be hoping to recapture the form that saw him win by two shots in the inaugural event at Albatross Golf Resort in 2014.

With 20 European Tour victories between them,Thomas Bjørn,Matt Fitzpatrick andAndy Sullivan will be certain to attract a sizable following when they tee off at 1305.

Fitzpatrick and Sullivan are likely to be keen to impress 2016 Ryder Cup vice-captain Bjørn, with both currently in the projected side set to face the United States next month.

Haydn Porteouswill be looking for his second win of the season when he tees off at 0755 alongside fellow Czech Masters debutantBrett RumfordandDavid Horsey.

Last year’s runner-upPelle Edbergwill have EnglishmenTommy Fleetwood, who tied for fifth in 2014, andMatthew Southgate for company in a 1255 tee time on Thursday.

Two-time Ryder Cup manPeter Hanson will be joined byJaco Van Zyl, another recent arrival from Rio, and Marc Warrenat 0815.

The 1995 Open Champion John Dalywill also be in the field and is set to tee it up in the company ofDavid Howell and CzechFilip Mruzekat 1315.
