On the tee: at the BMW PGA Championship

Masters Champion Danny Willett will launch his bid for a maiden BMW PGA Championship title alongside French Ryder Cup player Victor Dubuisson and recent winner Soomin Lee of Korea when play gets under way at Wentworth Club on Thursday.

The Englishman, who made his return to the European Tour last week in Ireland following that memorable triumph at Augusta last month, will hit the West Course at 1240 in the first round.

Lee Westwood, twice a runner-up here, will be hoping it’s a case of third time lucky this week, and will begin his challenge alongside Denmark’s Søren Kjeldsen and Korea’s Jeunghun Wang, who recently won his first two European Tour titles in back-to-back weeks.

Defending champion Byeong Hun An will begin his defence of the title he won last year with a 21 under par total alongside Shane Lowry and Francesco Molinari, who had a share of the lead heading into the final round 12 months ago.

Recent European Tour winner Andrew Johnston, who made a hole-in-one here last year, has been grouped with two-time Major champion Martin Kaymer and three-time European Tour Andy Sullivan and will tee off at 0815 on Thursday.

Luke Donald will be aiming for a third win at Wentworth, to go with his successes in 2011 and 2012, in the company of Bernd Wiesberger and Chris Wood.
