Omega extends deal with European Masters

The European Masters will be played until at least 2022 after the existing deal with title sponsors Omega was extended by five years.

Next week, Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club will stage the tournament for the 70th time, and the stunning Alpine venue will continue as host until 2022.

The field will be headlined by Major winner and defending champion, Danny Willett. Currently leading the Race to Dubai and ranked tenth in the world, Willett will bid to become the first player since the late, great Seve Ballesteros in 1978 to retain the trophy.

Willett will be joined in Crans Montana by his compatriots Lee Westwood, who won the Omega European Masters in 1999, and Matt Fitzpatrick, the Ryder Cup debutant who was pipped to the title by Willett last year.

American Bryson DeChambeau, who finished fourth in the RCB Heritage on the US PGA Tour shortly after turning professional, and at the other end of the experience spectrum, Spaniard Miguel Ángel Jiménez and Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke will be returning to one of the Tour’s most popular destinations.
