Olesen stays on track in Turkey

Thorbjørn Olesen showed no signs of letting his lead slip as he turned in 32 to stay six ahead on day three of the Turkish Airlines Open.

After making just three of his last 12 cuts, the 26 year old roared back to form with rounds of 65-62 at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort.

He maintained his dominace in round three, making two birdies with no bogeys to get to 17 under as he seeks to make it three winning seasons in a row on the European Tour.

Matteo Manassero was his closest challenger after turning in 31 and he was a shot ahead of David Lipsky and Bernd Wiesberger.

Olesen's opening drive found some nasty rough on the right but he played a brilliant second shot to eight feet, although he could not make the birdie putt.

The Dane must have felt that it was his week on the par three second as his tee-shot was heading left but hit tree branches, came down and rolled up the slope on the green to set up a birdie from six feet.

Lipsky made three birdies in a row from the third to move up the leaderboard and missed another good chance on the sixth.

Manassero made the next move with a birdie on the fifth and a stunning tee-shot set up another on the next. The par three was creating plenty of drama and an excellent tee-shot set up Olesen's second birdie of the day.

Manassero played a beautiful bunker shot to save par on the eighth and Lipsky made a fourth birdie of the day from 18 inches on the ninth to turn in 30.

Wiesberger had birdied the second and he then made three in four holes from the seventh to join that group in second at ten under but Manassero played a lovely approach to the ninth to take the position on his own.

Li Haotong was one under for his round after ten holes to sit at nine under alongside David Horsey, who picked up a shot in his first nine.

Thongchai Jaidee and Adrian Otaegui were also nine under after turning in level par, a shot clear of Jorge Campillo, Joakim Lagergren, Pablo Larrazábal and Jeunghun Wang.
