Two-time Masters Champion José María Olazábal will add his name to the legends of golf at the Shipco Masters promoted by Simon’s Golf Club when the Staysure Tour returns to Denmark from June 1-3.
The 2012 Ryder Cup winning captain, who masterminded the Miracle at Medinah, joins fellow former Ryder Cup trio Paul McGinley, Colin Montgomerie and Ian Woosnam in a star-studded tournament at Simon’s Golf Club.
The sensational Spaniard will be teeing it up with familiar faces having been one of Paul McGinley’s vice captains for The 2014 Ryder Cup victory, while McGinley provided the same support when Olazábal oversaw Europe’s famous comeback in 2012.
Olazábal will make his 2018 Staysure Tour debut at Simon’s Golf Club after featuring in two events on the over-50s circuit last year.
With 23 European Tour titles to his name, Olazábal will also make his very first appearance on Danish soil after 35 years on the European Tour.
The 52 year old becomes the fourth victorious Ryder Cup captain to grace the Shipco Masters promoted by Simon’s Golf Club tournament as the Staysure Tour makes its first showing in Europe for 2018.
