George O’Grady, the Chief Executive of The European Tour, would like to express on behalf of The Playing Members and the Staff of The European Tour, the European Senior Tour and the European Challenge Tour our deepest sympathy to the people of Japan for the lives lost in the devastating earthquake and tsunamis, and to send our heartfelt condolences to all who have lost loved ones.
We have enormous respect for the courage and determination shown by the Japanese people in the face of such suffering, and we have all been deeply moved by the collective spirit and dignity of all involved in the relief effort and the re-building.
The world of golf stands shoulder to shoulder with the Japan Golf Tour Organisation (JGTO) and the Japanese people in solidarity and shared sorrow. We look forward to the opportunity to consider how best our sport can respond with support and a positive commitment to help Japan overcome this tragedy.
