Norman to return to Crans

Two-time Major winner Greg Norman of Australia has followed reigning Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa in committing to play the Omega European Masters.

Norman, known as the Great White Shark, was one of the game’s dominant figures during his heyday in the 1980s and ‘90s, and showed he can still compete as a ‘senior’ when finishing third behind Irishman Padraig Harrington at the 2008 Open Championship.

The 55 year old now runs his own golf design company, amongst other business interests, but will make a rare foray onto The European Tour at the €2million event, which returns to the stunning Crans-sur-Sierre in Crans Montana, Switzerland, from September 2-5.

In a glittering professional career spanning 34 years, Greg Norman won 88 tournaments around the world, including The Open Championship in 1986 and 1993.

Norman finished third at the Swiss Open – the predecessor to the Omega European Masters – in 1980, but will be appearing at Crans-sur-Sierre for the first time since 1995.
