No SNAGS to learning golf at Scottish Senior Open

The Cleveland Golf/Srixon Scottish Senior Open will provide plenty of golfing entertainment for the local golfing community at the Fairmont St Andrews venue from August 20-22.

International Golf Development (IGD) will provide a feast of golf at their Interactive Golf Zone and on the SNAG (Start New At Golf) Golf Course.

The Interactive Golf Zone will allow local kids and their families to get an introduction to golf using the SNAG coaching system – an innovative; first touch golf coaching system which has dramatically improved access to golf in the USA, Korea and Japan.

The SNAG system, which uses just two clubs (the Roller and the Launcher) is designed to increase retention rates as it is fun and easy to use. SNAG equipment provides the perfect introduction to golf, helping to build up skills and confidence before playing the full game.

IGD coaches will be on hand to help at Fairmont St Andrews, where the Interactive Golf Zone includes 3 different coaching stations to help participants learn the basics of golf.

The SNAG Rollers and Launchers come in sizes to suit all and the SNAG coaching tools assist in making the learning of golf fun. Once participants have complete a coaching session, they then have the opportunity to test their newly acquired skills on the SNAG Golf Course, a unique addition to selected European Senior Tour event this year.

The interactive golf zone and the SNAG Golf course are open to all participants and promise much fun. The IGD Interactive Golf Zone was launched, at this year’s Matrix Jersey Classic on the Senior Tour.

Dominique le Curoit, a parent from Jersey, was one of the first to participate in the Golf Zone and play the SNAG course. “It was fantastic, I learned to play golf alongside my 10 year old son and was then able to compete against him,” she said.

The Interactive Golf Zone will be open each morning from 9am until play finishes each evening. IGD accredited coaches will be on hand to help any interested golfers.
