NI Open app to keep fans up to date during tournament week

Keep up to date with all the action from this week’s Galgorm Resort and Spa NI Open, presented by Modest! Golf with the tournament’s dedicated app packed full of information and live scoring from Galgorm Castle.

NI Open App

The NI Open app has been developed by the tournament’s Official Technology Partner, performanceActive, who bring the action live to screens with a range of innovative features.

The 2018 NI Open app can be downloaded free from the App Store or for Android on Google Play. Visitniopen.golfto get the link. New features include live streaming over the weekend where viewers will be able to see some of the action live through the app, Facebook and on the official websiteniopen.golf.

The new digital scratch card is available for spectators who download the NI Open app and are watching the golf at Galgorm. They will be able to enter daily competitions for the chance to win on the spot prizes.

Last year performanceActive co-ordinated a team of young roving reporters who followed the action on the course and around the estate and were able to provide live content and social media updates in real time. This was a very popular feature that will be used again this week and is another great way to “capture the moment” and engage with fans and followers.

“performanceActive is always looking for new ways to innovate and bring something new to market. We have supported the NI Open from the beginning and it is one of the most innovative sporting events we are involved with,” explains Fergus Wallace from performanceActive.

“Being the NI Open Technology Partner allows us to showcase exciting, new and emerging technologies. We recognise that fan engagement at live sporting events these days is key, and we have developed software that brings the action live to fans in a number of different ways.

“The NI Open works so well because it’s a tournament that grows every year and has a great buzz around the entire venue. Fans and spectators can now tap into these cool features through the app.

“The NI Open is definitely one of the most innovative tournaments on the European Challenge Tour and we are delighted to play our part by bringing greater fan engagement during tournament week.”

A great way to experience the app will be during Wednesday’s Pro-Am when spectators can follow key groups that include football legend Pat Jennings plus Sammy Clingan, David Healy and Keith Gillespie.

The big-hitting Stephen Ferris, GAA’s Oisin McConville and Athletics sensation Michael McKillop all return to Galgorm along with several TV personalities such as BBC’s Stephen Watson. Keep an eye on the NI Open app for Pro-Am updates and tee times.
