The Dane, who recorded a maiden professional win at the Kolkata Challenge in India last month to catapult himself to the summit of the season-long Rankings, produced a stunning fight back on the final day of the UAE Challenge to make it two wins from his last three starts.

The 24-year-old has been in scintillating form through the opening eight weeks of the season, and having racked up 774 points thus far, is in pole position to earn promotion to the DP World Tour in his first full season as a professional.

Neergaard-Petersen has also given himself a chance to make the step up to golf’s Global Tour at the earliest opportunity. Should he claim a third victory in any one of the remaining 21 Challenge Tour events to come in 2024, he’ll be fast-tracked onto the DP World Tour for the remainder of the year.

Alex Levy is a five-time DP World Tour winner and currently occupies second place in the Rankings on 471 points after recording back-to-back top ten finishes across the UAE swing.

The Frenchman has a second-place finish and three other top tens to his name from eight starts this year as he looks to make a swift return to the DP World Tour.

Mikael Lindberg from Sweden is 40 points further back on 431 in third place after his victory in the Bain’s Whisky Cape Town Open in February, with Englishman John Parry, the winner of the Delhi Challenge last month, on 419 points in fourth.

Four more winners on the 2024 Road to Mallorca follow, with Welshman Rhys Enoch (401 points) in fifth, Frenchman David Ravetto (378 points) sixth, Englishman Garrick Porteous (350 points) seventh and Swede Björn Åkesson (340 points) eighth.

Englishman David Horsey finished in second place in the Kolkata Challenge and third in the UAE Challenge last week to move up to ninth on 330 points, and countryman Sam Hutsby rounds out the top ten with 324 points.

South African Wilco Nienaber climbed 36 places to 12th on the Rankings after finishing solo second last week, meanwhile Irishman Conor Purcell is the only other new face in the top 20 after impressing on his way to fourth and sixth place finishes in his last two outings.

The Road to Mallorca returns next week with the 25th edition of the Challenge de España taking place from May 9-12.
