The Scotsman, who turned 50 on June 30, tees off at 7.52 on Thursday from the tenth hole at Omaha Country Club, alongside Watson, who is also attempting to win his first US Senior Open title, and Langer, who was victorious in the event in 2010, at Sahalee Country Club.

Defending champion Roger Champion, who convincingly won the European Senior Tour Order of Merit last season, is paired with Americans Fred Couples and Paul Simpson, starting from the first hole at 13.37.

The man who won the John Jacobs Trophy the previous year, Peter Fowler of New Zealand, will begin his quest for his first Senior Major at 13.27 from the first alongside Mike Goodes and Gene Sauers, while Englishman Barry Lane is paired with Gary Koch and Peter Jacobsen for the first two rounds, starting at 7.31 from the tenth.

Paul Wesselingh, the Senior Tour’s most recent champion who won last week via a play-off at the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open, starts at 7.10 from the tenth alongside Jim Carter and Joel Edwards.
