Minister Ring visits Carton House

Michael Ring TD, Minister of State for Tourism and Sport was among one of the many thousands of visitors who took in the excitement of the third round of the Irish Open at Carton House today.

The Minister toured the entire Carton House venue including a trip round the media centre by the 18thgreen which houses the 200-plus media from around the world who have been accredited for the tournament.

The Minister, in the company of Tony Lenehan, Head of Golf Tourism for Fáilte Ireland, and James Finnigan, Commercial Director of the Irish Open from the European Tour, also took in the action on the first tee as the leading groups teed off.

Amongst the players the trio watched tee off were two time Masters Champion and former European Ryder Cup captain José Maria Olazabal, as well as the joint leaders going into the final round – Englishman Robert Rock and American Peter Uihlein.
