Rory McIlroy moved into a share of the lead in the early stages of his third round at the World Golf Championships - Cadillac Championship.
The Northern Irishman vaulted himself into contention at Trump National Doral thanks to a sparkling 65 on Friday which involved just 23 putts, and he continued that form on moving day in Florida.
The World Number Three birdied the first to move to nine under and join overnight leader and playing partner Adam Scott, who dropped a shot on the fourth.
Defending champion Dustin Johnson was then a further shot back, one clear of Charley Hoffman, with Paul Casey at six under.
The Spanish duo of Sergio Garcia and Rafa Cabrera-Bello were on a charge up the leaderboard at five under through 16 holes, alongside Danny Willett, Anirban Lahiri, Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson.
The big-hitting duo of Johnson and Watson both took advantage of the par five first for birdies with Hoffman making gains on the second and third.
McIlroy put his second shot on the opener into the bunker protecting the front of the green but got up-and-down nicely to join Johnson one off the lead as Scott made his par.
Watson and Willett then both dropped back thanks to double-bogeys after finding the water off the tee on the third and McIlroy and Scott both saved par on the same hole after trouble off the tee, with McIlroy producing a brilliant chip from over the back of the green.
Johnson dropped two shots off the lead with a bogey on the par three fourth after missing the green, but that gap was reduced when Scott found the sand and repeated the trick.
Cabrera-Bello had seven birdies and two bogeys in his round so far, while Garcia had a single blemish on the 14th.
