• His sixth European Tour International Schedule victory in his 93rd European Tour event

• Second European Tour International Schedule of the 2010 season, following the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship

• His first Major Championship victory in his 12th Major Championship appearance

• This victory beats his previous best Major Championship finish of tied sixth in the 2009 US PGA Championship

• Victory comes in his third US PGA Championship appearance. This victory beats his previous best performance in the Championship of tied sixth in 2009

• Becomes the first Continental European since José Maria Olazábal (1999 Masters Tournament) to win a Major Championship

• This victory beats the best previous performance by a German in the US PGA Championship of fourth by Alex Cejka in 2003

• Follows Bernhard Langer (1985, 1993 Masters Tournament) as the second German to win a Major Championship

• The 40th  Major Championship victory by a European Tour Member since Seve Ballesteros won The Open Championship in 1979

•  The 19th different European Tour Member to win a Major Championship since Seve Ballesteros in 1979

• Becomes the fifth Continental European to win a Major Championship. He follows Arnaud Massy (1907 Open Championship), Seve Ballesteros 1979, 1984, 1988 Open Championship and 1980, 1983 Masters Tournament), Bernard Langer (1985 and 1993 Masters Tournament) and José Maria Olazábal (1994 and 1999 Masters Tournament)

• Third successive European Tour Member to win a Major Championship, following Graeme McDowell at the US Open Championship and Louis Oosthuizen at The Open Championship. This represents the first time since Padraig Harrington (2008 Open Championship and US PGA Championship) and Angel Cabrera (2009 Masters Tournament) that three consecutive Major Championships have been won by European Tour Members

• Gains a lifetime exemption into the US PGA Championship

• Gains a five year exemption into the Masters Tournament, US Open Championship and Open Championship

• Gains a place in the 2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf

• Extends his European Tour exemption until the end of 2017

• The 58th German victory in European Tour history

• Fifth player to record multiple victories on the 2010 European Tour International Schedule. They are: Charl Schwartzel (Africa Open and Joburg Open), Martin Kaymer (Abu Dhabi Golf Championship and US PGA Championship), Louis Oosthuizen (Open de Andalucia de Golf and The Open Championship), Graeme McDowell (The Celtic Manor Wales Open and US Open Championship) and Miguel Angel Jiménez (Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Alstom Open de France)
