Manassero makes his mark for charity

Genworth’s 2010 Putts4Charity initiative made significant gains during the first day’s play of the BMW PGA Championship, thanks to both the player one putts on the course and the one putts made by visitors to the specially-constructed greens in the Tented Village.

Teenage sensation Matteo Manssero of Italy took time out to make his own £1,000 one putt in aid of SOS Children’s Villages.

“It’s an honour to be asked to represent the Tour Players Foundation in the Putts4Charity initiative,” he said. “I’m very proud to help out, and I’m just glad I made my putt!”

The tournament fundraising total donated by the Genworth Foundation is already in excess of £10,000.

The Genworth Foundation , the charitable giving arm of Genworth Financial, is proud to support SOS Children’s Villages, and will contribute £1 for each one putt made by the public at the Putts for Charity and £2 for each one putt made by the Tour professionals during the BMW PGA Championship.
