Rising star Viktor Hovland will make his first appearance in the event, taking on a selection of Major Champions, Ryder Cup stars and tournament legends.

At just 23 years of age, Hovland finds himself in the Ryder Cup reckoning and will use this opportunity to impress two-time Open Champion Padraig Harrington, who will look to go one better than his runner-up result in this event in 2006.

Former World Number One Martin Kaymer will return to the site of his second European Tour victory. He won the 20th BMW International Open at the age of 23 years and 177 days, making him the youngest winner in the tournaments history, and the only German winner of the coveted trophy.

Fellow Major winners Sergio Garcia and Louis Oosthuizen will also go in search of their first BMW International Open title, as will two-time Rolex Series winner Bernd Wiesberger.

Two-time tournament winner and 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjørn will also return to Munich. The Dane won this event in 2000 and 2002 and is the joint-record winner of the tournament.

Flying the home flag alongside Kaymer will be Alex Cejka, Max Kieffer and Stephan Jäger. Kieffer came close to a maiden European Tour victory at the Austrian Golf Open, losing out to American John Catlin after five play-off holes at Diamond Country Club.
