The Made in Denmark Challenge - Presented by FREJA heads to Silkeborg Ry Golf Klub in 2019, the fifth different venue to host the event in its five-year history.
With past winners including 2018 Rankings winner Joachim B. Hansen, who triumphed at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort en route to graduation, and 2016 winner Bernd Ritthamer who tasted success at Aalborg Golf Klub before winning twice more that year to clinch his European Tour card.
Silkeborg Ry Golf Klub is no stranger to European Tour golf, having hosted the Made in Denmark in 2018. There was high drama in Denmark as four Englishman – Steven Brown, Jonathan Thomson, Matt Wallace and Lee Westwood – could not be split after 72 holes and entered a hole-by-hole play-off.
Thomson and Westwood bowed out after the first visit to the 18thhaving registered pars, while Brown and Wallace returned to the final hole following a birdie apiece.
It was Wallace who eventually triumphed, winning his third title of the year following a birdie at the second extra hole, while Brown could only manage a par.
Furthermore, triumphant 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjørn hails from Silkeborg, having been born in the Danish town in 1971.
