Made In Denmark: Day 1 in numbers

Following a hugely successful first edition of the Made In Denmark in 2014, we're back again. 156 players teed it up at Himmerland Golf Resort today and they were chasing a certain Englishman for much of the day. Here's the best fact and figures from the opening round.

Dave Horsey - on his way to a fine opening round 63 at the Made in Denmark

63- David Horsey's opening round, enough for a one shot lead over Oilver Farr. That is Horsey lowest round since he lead the 2014 Tshwane Open after the first round with the same number.

28- David Horsey’s opening nine today, tying the lowest nine hole score on The European Tour this season (Justin Walters, Joburg Open).

7- Under par after eight holes for the 30 year old who admitted he did think about shooting the first 59 on The European Tour.

2 - Bogey-free rounds courtesy of Lawrie and Spain's Edoardo De La Riva.

5- Players in the top ten who are over the age of 40 (Paul Lawrie, Kjeldsen, Dredge, Peter Lawrie and Pilkadaris)

66- Opening round of Søren Kjeldsen, the low Dane after 18 holes. Kjeldsen is making his 501st European Tour start this week.

15,387- Spectators through the gates at Himmerland Golf Resort on day one. Roughly 2,000 more than attended the first round last year.

41.5- Per cent of Fantasy Race To Dubai users have Marc Warren in their team this week, more than any other player. The defending champion double bogeyed his final hole for an opening round 71. The same score he shot in the first round last year.

71.6- Per cent of players made birdie or better on the par five sixth hole today. The 471-yard hole was changed from a par four to a par five for this year's event and played very easily today with the wind direction.
