The 60 year old finished in a share of 33rd position in the tournament at Almouj Golf, The Wave, in a country where he has been helping to develop golf for nearly 30 years.

Eight-time European Senior Tour winner Longmuir carded two opening rounds of 74 to make the weekend cut before a superb three under par third round of 69. He closed with a round of 73 for a two over par total of 290.

After competing against some of the game’s emerging talent in Oman, Longmuir will return to Senior Tour action at next month’s Fubon Senior Open. The Scot is currently 38thon the Senior Tour Order of Merit and is looking to finish campaign strongly and secure his place in the season-ending MCB Tour Championship in Mauritius in December.

He said: "Although I'm 60 years old, it’s great to play and see these young players playing. They are so strong and the standard on this tour is excellent. That has been an eye-opener for me and I really enjoyed it."
