Zander Lombard is taking inspiration from Brandon Stone as he aims to become the second South African to claim a maiden European Tour win in as many weeks.
Stone won The BMW SA Open hosted by City of Ekurhuleni last week at the age of just 22 and Lombard, who does not turn 21 until Monday, is eager to follow in his footsteps.
A third round 65 means he goes into the final round of the Joburg Open with a share of the lead and, after finishing one shot outside a play-off at the Australian PGA Championship before Christmas, he is confident he can handle the pressure.
"My game has definitely matured over the last year," he said. "It's my second year on tour and I've learnt a lot.

"I'm definitely looking forward to it. I did it in Australia and just didn't finish it off and I'm definitely going to look to finish it off this time.
"I think it gave me a lot of maturity in my game. You know every shot counts and I missed out by one, so I definitely have to keep it tidy tomorrow and try my best."
Countryman Haydn Porteous will also be going for his first win at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club as he sits level with Lombard and Anthony Wall at 15 under.
The 21 year old did not feel he was at his best on Saturday but believes he knows what will be the key to victory on Sunday.
"Around the East, if you're missing fairways it can be tough," he said. "You've got to accept that you are going to make bogeys and when I gave myself an opportunity to make birdie I did.
"Hopefully tomorrow I can hit a few more fairways and a few more greens and hopefully a few putts like today will drop.
"I think I've just got to do what I've done for the last three days and play every shot as it comes, to not get ahead of myself and hopefully if I do that I'll do the job and make South Africa proud."
