“I’m absolutely delighted,” he said. “There’s big crowds that come to watch the Foshan Open, so it will be an amazing experience to play in front of them all. I know I will be competing with some of the ‘stars of tomorrow’ but I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from watching how these pros approach and play their shots.

“While I’ll never forget the great experience, I will nevertheless be trying my best to make the half way cut and make it into the final two rounds. That would be an extra special feeling!”

Representing the nearby Yangjiang Lakefront Golf Club and Resort, Lin will join the elite European Challenge Tour field by way of his victory in the Southern China Members Ranking Tournament, which is part of a larger initiative to help develop the best local talent.

“Our aim is for local amateur players in the tournament to feel a close connection with the Foshan Open,” said Julian Small, General Manager of Foshan Golf Club. “I’m sure that the many golfers from around southern China will be following and supporting Lin Youxuan, when the Foshan Open kicks off.”

The Foshan Open, which runs from October 18-21 at Foshan Golf Club in Foshan City, China is the penultimate tournament on the season-long Road to Ras Al Khaimah and is one of the largest prize funds that Challenge Tour players will compete for all year. Additionally, it represents the last chance for players outside the top 45 on the Rankings to qualify for the limited-field Ras Al Khaimah Challenge Tour Grand Final.
