Soomin Lee is playing in just his second European Tour event but will take a three-shot lead into the final round of the Maybank Championship Malaysia.
The South Korean finished in a tie for third at the UBS Hong Kong Open in October and once again proved he is very comfortable in this sort of company as a stunning burst of birdies after the turn propelled him to a seven under par 64.
That moved him to 15 under for the week, three shots clear of Marcus Fraser who enjoyed a blemish-free 66.
Fraser's fellow Australian Nathan Holman was then at 11 under after a 73 which included a triple bogey on the last, with Spaniard Jorge Campillo, Japan's Masahiro Kawamura and Filipino Miguel Tabuena all five shots off the lead.
Lee, 22, only turned professional in 2014 and has made just 12 appearances on the Asian Tour but will now face the biggest round of his fledgling career so far on Sunday at Royal Selangor Golf Club.

"It was very exciting. I had a good feeling this week because I like playing on this course.
"I hit many important iron shots today. I tried to putt close to the hole but it went in so I gained some confidence on the greens.
"I'm trying to enjoy my game and focus on my own game. If I keep my ball on the fairway then it will be good for me to try and score."
He turned in 33 with the help of a brilliant curling putt on the eighth but came to life after the turn with a run of four birdies from the tenth. Another gain on the 15th made it six birdies in eight holes but he bogeyed the next after finding a bad lie before another excellent putt on the 17th secured a ninth birdie of the day.
The highlight of Fraser's round came on the seventh as he brilliantly chipped in from a bunker for a birdie and back-to-back gains on the 14th and 15th put him in the hunt for a third European Tour title.
Bogeys on the seventh, ninth and tenth looked to have left overnight leader Holman's campaign in tatters but he made four birdies in five holes from the 13th to sit just one behind the leader as he stood on the 18th tee.
He found the sand and then the water down the last, however, and may need to replicate his form of the first two days when he went 64-65 if he is to claim a second title of the season.
Kawamura fired a 67 to keep himself within striking distance while Campillo and Tabuena both signed for 69s.
Mikko Ilonen recorded the joint round of the day with a 64 which contained just one bogey and he was at nine under alongside Richard Bland, Stephen Gallacher, Pablo Larrazábal and Julien Quesne, who ended his round with a brilliant 60-foot putt on the last.
