Soomin Lee focused on the positives after two double-bogeys in his last three holes meant he had to settle for a share of second at the Maybank Championship Malaysia.
The South Korean came into the final round at Royal Selangor Golf Club with a three-shot lead and still led by two as he stood on the 16th tee.
However, an errant drive, a short approach and three putts saw him go up the last in a share of the lead with Marcus Fraser, and more trouble around the green meant it was the Australian who claimed the trophy.
The appearance in Kuala Lumpur was just Lee's second on The European Tour and made it two top threes after he finished in a tie for third at the UBS Hong Kong Open in October.
The 22 year old also finished in the top ten at the Leopalace21 Myanmar Open and Bashundhara Bangladesh Open recently, two of just 13 appearances he has made on the Asian Tour in his fledgling career.
So Lee, while disappointed with his finish in Malaysia, quite rightly chose to reflect on his recent successes as he prepares to head to next week's ISPS HANDA Perth International.
"This week is very good for my golf life but I'm a little bit disappointed," he said.

"16, 17 and 18 are very important on this course. I was very nervous and felt pressured. I missed some short putts and that's why I finished second.
"I still have one more tournament in Perth next week so I hope to play well again."
Lee finished in a share of second alongside Filipino 21 year old Miguel Tabuena, with 22 year old Masahiro Kawamura from Japan also taking a place in the top ten.
Add that to recent victories for Brandon Stone, 22, and Haydn Porteous, 21, and the future of golf looks to be in very safe hands indeed.
