LAST CHANCE: Pick February's finest in latest SOTM

Today offers My European Tour fans a last chance to vote for theirEuropean Tour Shot of the Monthand in turn be eligible for a fantastic prize.

Pick your favourite from these superb seven in the February Shot of the Month

With the final two events of the Desert Swing in Qatar and Dubai included in the February offering alongside a trip to India and the year’s first World Golf Championships event there really was a plethora of fine shot-making and it’s now down to you to choose the best.

The shot that receives the most votes from you will be declared the winner, and from those who choose the Shot of the Month, one fan will receive a bumper prize pack full of European Tour goodies.

First up is Peter Hanson’s eagle effort on the driveable 16th hole in Qatar. Having found the right rough some thirty yards short of the green, the Swede produced a moment of magic flopping the ball high into the air before landing softly, rolling dead weight, into the heart of the hole. It was just the fillip the four-time champion needed en route to a fine round of 67 and a tie for second place alongside Australia’s Jason Day.

Both of these men finished behind Paul Lawrie,  who went on to win his second Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy, helped in no small measure by our second contender this month. Lying just short of the green at the ninth, the man affectionately known as ‘Chippy’ was faced with a daunting up and down for his birdie, but he went on to prove exactly how he came by that nickname, pitching the ball half way up the green before watching it skip, check, and roll out into the hole for an eagle three which gave him just the cushion he needed heading to the back nine.

Martin Kaymer puts forward a strong claim for the February Shot of the Month with a feat all golfers dream about, a hole-in-one, the only surprise being that this was the first of his career. Faced with the downhill 177 yard seventh hole, the German pitched the ball to within a few feet short of the pin and watched it spin perfectly into the hole..

Our next contender comes from South Africa’s Jbe’ Kruger who, needing to make no worse than a bogey down the last in the Avantha Masters, had tugged his tee shot on the closing par four into the trees down the left. However, luck was seemingly on his side as his path to the green remained clear, an opportunity he did not turn down, dispatching a purely struck mid iron into the heart of the green guarded so ominously to the right by a water hazard. Two putts later and a maiden European Tour title was his.

Our final three efforts see a return to the desert, this time in Arizona for the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

First up we have Retief Goosen who, having taken a penalty drop, found himself 156 yards away from the hole at the 11th before a superb approach found the hole and yielded an unlikely birdie.

On day two Miguel Angel Jimenez pitched in from the back left of the lengthy par three third hole to make it three holes in a row to start his match with Keegan Bradley before eventually going on to win 2&1.

And finally, en route to finishing runner-up, Rory McIlroy showed a touch of class in his final against Hunter Mahan. Four down to the American through ten holes, the Northern Irishman showed real heart in chipping in from just short of the par five 11th for a crucial eagle and a potential lifeline in the match.

A fine array of shots for you to pick from, so choose wisely and you could win this month’s great prize. The winning shot will also join January winner Sergio Garcia, after his hole in one in Abu Dhabi, as part of the season ending European Tour Shot of the Year competition.
