Spain's Pablo Larrazábal shot a flawless final round 66 to claim a second BMW International Open title by a single stroke from Henrik Stenson at Golfclub München Eichenried.
Larrazábal raced to the turn in 31 to place himself on a congested leaderboard, and as the challengers one by one faded away his sixth birdie of the day from 15 feet on the 16th proved decisive in edging out clubhouse leader Stenson.
The World Number Seven Stenson had put himself in contention with a round of 65 that featured five birdies and an eagle on the long 11th.
England’s Chris Paisley shot a one under par 71 in the final pairing to take third on 15 under, boosting his chances of retaining his card for next season in the process, but overnight leader James Morrison finished outside the top ten after a closing 77.
“I’m very tired,” said Larrazábal after claiming a fourth European Tour title, having also won his second at this venue in 2011.
“I knew that I was in a good position, and I knew that I had to start very fast. I had to start with a few birdies in the first few holes, and I started very well.
“I think I was five under for the front nine, hitting the ball great - as good as I’ve hit it all year, and my putting was awesome. I made a lot of great putts.
“Coming in, it was tough. You have a lot of holes with a lot of trouble.
Larrazábal is getting married to partner Gala Ortin in August and admitted he was in a good place at the moment.
“In two months I will be a married man,” he added.

Stenson, who arrived here on the back of a gruelling week at the US Open, was pleased to have produced some of his best golf to give himself a chance.
“I hit some great shots and took full advantage of those two holes and thought if I could post a low number in the clubhouse, see what happened,” said Stenson, whose 30 foot eagle was followed by a tee shot to six feet at the next.
“I came out there, hit some nice shots and took advantage with a good putter. There is not much to be disappointed in today. I had a long range chance on 17 that looked good and an eagle chance on the last, but it was a tricky line and didn't get the read right.”
Paisley came into the week 145th on The Race to Dubai, but climbed to 77th with his cheque for €125,200 after recording his first top-ten finish on The European Tour.
South Africa’s former US Open winner Retief Goosen briefly held a share of the lead on the front nine, but found water on the 11th and eventually finished in a share of fourth with Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Spain’s Carlos del Moral.
