Korea Championship Presented by Genesis - The debrief

Pablo Larrazábal demonstrated his battling qualities as the Spaniard overcame tricky conditions and a high-quality field to win the 2023 Korea Championship Presented by Genesis.

Meanwhile, home favourite Park Sanghyun gave the bumper crowds plenty to cheer about as he put on a show at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea.

Larrazábal seals win number eight

Spain's Larrazábal secured a two-shot victory after producing a back-nine birdie blitz on Sunday but the foundations of his win were laid on Saturday. The 39-year-old excelled in windy conditions on day three, making three birdies and one bogey in his first 16 holes before play was suspended due to fading light following an earlier weather delay. Larrazábal would go on to drop a shot at the 17th when the third round resumed on Sunday morning, but with no-one in the field managing to keep their card clean on Saturday, a one-under-par 71 proved to be a fantastic score. And he built on that with a closing 67, which featured six birdies and one bogey, to claim his eighth DP World Tour title. Speaking after his win, Larrazábal said: "Yesterday was a battle. I actually didn't look at the leaderboard too much yesterday because I knew that it was a long road and it was all about keeping the ball in the best spots that I could putt or chip from. To shoot one under par yesterday was amazing."

Vocal locals back home favourite Park

South Korea's Park received great support from the home crowds throughout the week and he repaid them with a series of wonderful moments. He shared the lead at the halfway stage after shooting rounds of 67 and 69 on Thursday and Friday respectively, before keeping himself in the hunt as conditions worsened on Saturday. After mixing two birdies with two bogeys over his first 12 holes on Sunday, Park sparked a huge roar when he holed his tricky chip at the 14th for an eagle to give himself an outside chance of victory. He had to settle for a share of third place in the end but that eagle will live long in his memory. Park said: "The most memorable was number 14. That was great, that is one I will take away from this event."

Family affair for Ding

Talented amateur Ding Wenyi had his father on the bag in South Korea - and he was the first to celebrate when his son rolled in a putt. The Chinese 18-year-old shot a 69 on Friday to safely make the cut, leading to some great reactions from his caddie.

MacIntyre's monster birdie putt

Robert MacIntyre led after three rounds thanks to some extraordinary shots on Saturday. As important as his par saves were, surely this enormous birdie effort at the eighth was the best of the bunch?

Migliozzi saves best until last

Guido Migliozzi went into Sunday's final round on three over par, 11 shots off the lead. But he produced a fabulous finish on day four, making nine birdies and no bogeys in a 63 to end the tournament in joint-14th.
