The two-time Major Champion was unable to play in last year’s event, won by Thongchai Jaidee, due to scheduling conflicts but is hoping for a happy homecoming at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach from September 22-25.

“I am looking forward to it working out this year and playing in front of a home audience at the Porsche European Open,” said the 31 year old.

More than 25,000 spectators saw Jaidee record his seventh victory on the European Tour, finishing 17 under par on the Beckenbauer course.

Tournament Director Dominik Senn said: “We were very happy with how the event rolled out in its first year. It is never easy to stage a successful tournament in such a short time.

“Last year, we experienced the huge excitement brought by Bernhard Langer and we want to see the top German players at their best return to Bad Griesbach in September.”

Advance tickets are now available and can be purchasedhere.

Tickets for Thursday and Friday are €12.50, Saturday and Sunday tickets are €32 and a ticket for all four days are priced at €49.
