Kaymer on the up at Firestone

Martin Kaymer moved into red figures at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational following an impressive start to his final round.

The World Number Three, who landed his first Major at last year’s US PGA Championship, birdied the second, third and seventh holes today to reach one under for the tournament.

Englishmen Justin Rose and Paul Casey were also three under for the day. Rose was therefore a shot behind Kaymer on level par, with his fellow countryman two further back.

Tiger Woods, meanwhile, picked up shots at the second and fifth holes to move into the group at one under.

While the early starters made progress, the leading players had yet to get under way at Firestone.

At 12 under, overnight leader Adam Scott holds a one-shot lead over Jason Day and Ryo Ishikawa.

Scotland’s Martin Laird is a further shot back alongside Keegan Bradley, with World Number One Luke Donald - who shot 64 yesterday - Sweden’s Fredrik Jacobson and Rickie Fowler tied for sixth on eight under.
