Kaymer confirmed for Alstom Open de France

German Martin Kaymer has confirmed he will compete in the Alstom Open de France, which will take place at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines from 2-5 July. The 2009 champion and former World Number one will be competing for the ninth consecutive year.

Since his Alstom Open de France debut back in 2007, Kaymer has entertained the French fans every year. Seventh for his first appearance, he established himself as one of Europe's most talented golfers during the 2009 edition, clinching the trophy after defeating Lee Westwood in a play-off after setting a new course record of 62 during the first round. Sixth in 2010, fourth in 2011, but also tied for thirteenth and twelfth the last two years, the Düsseldorf native is a declared lover of the Albatros course and France's national open.

Coming to the 99th edition of the tournament, the 2010 USPGA Championship and 2014 US Open champion will once again be one of the main attractions. The 30 year old World No. 17 will line up alongside a number of his Ryder Cup team-mates including of two-time defending champion Graeme McDowell from Northern Ireland, Lee Westwood of England, Jamie Donaldson of Wales, Thomas Bjørn of Denmark, Stephen Gallacher of Scotland, and France's own Victor Dubuisson.
