Martin Kaymer is the latest Major winner to join the star-studded field at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, with the former World Number One teeing it up at Lahinch Golf Club for the first time from July 4-7.

The German joins fellow Major champions Padraig Harrington, Graeme McDowell, Louis Oosthuizen, and Danny Willett, who have already confirmed their participation in the second Rolex Series event of the 2019 Race to Dubai season, as the 34-year-old looks to better his tied fifth finish at the 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open.

Previous Rolex Series winners Tommy Fleetwood, Lee Westwood and Shane Lowry will also tee it up at the County Clare course, which is perched on the famous Wild Atlantic Way coast of Ireland, in the event   hosted by 2014 Ryder Cup winning captain Paul McGinley. Tickets to watch some of the world’s best golfers in action are availablehere.

The four-time Ryder Cup star, who counts the 2010 US PGA Championship and 2014 U.S. Open amongst his 11 European Tour titles, finished third at the Memorial Tournament last week to break back inside the top 100 in the Official World Golf Rankings following a wrist injury that hampered most of his 2018 season. He is hoping a return to links golf in Ireland will be the ideal preparation ahead of The Open Championship.

“I’m excited to play links golf in Ireland again because it truly is a spectacular place to visit with some of the best golf courses in the world,” said Kaymer.

“The Rolex Series events we play are always impressive, and I know the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open is going to maintain that world-class atmosphere with the course at Lahinch, and the support we get from the Irish crowds and Paul as tournament host.

“I know how meticulous and thorough he is with his preparations, so it will truly be an amazing atmosphere on the West Coast, and I am looking forward to the challenge it poses.”
