Anthony Kang and Robert Rock were among those to make progress on the third morning of the Andalucia Valderrama Masters.

Kang, the winner of the 2009 Maybank Malaysian Open, picked up shots on the second, fourth and sixth holes to get back to level par for the tournament, having carded rounds of 73 and 72 over the first two days.

Rock, meanwhile, birdied the fourth and fifth holes to reach two under for the day and one over for the tournament.

Steve Webster and David Howell, who started their third rounds on five over, were also two under for the day as they approached the closing holes.

Race to Dubai leader Martin Kaymer was another of the early starters and completed his first nine holes in one under par courtesy of a birdie at the fourth and eight pars.

That moved the German alongside Webster and Howell on three over, but he remained ten shots adrift of leader Graeme McDowell - his nearest rival in the Race to Dubai standings.

McDowell - who had yet to begin his third round - held a two-shot advantage over fellow Northern Irishman Gareth Maybin, with Sweden’s Niclas Fasth a further two shots back in third.
