Junior Road to Spey Valley

Juniors across the North have a glorious opportunity to meet the top European Challenge Tour players at this year’s SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge at Macdonald Spey Valley Golf Course.

Scottish Challenge qualifiers

The Challenge Tour, in partnership with Scottish Golf and Spey Valley Golf Club, are inviting all golfers to enter eight different qualifying competitions to win a place in the final on Saturday June 23 at the nine-hole Spey Valley Academy Course.

This special event celebrates the tenth anniversary of the SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge being hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts, whilst also supporting Scotland’s ‘Year of the Young People’.

The Junior Road to Spey Valley is a nine-hole stableford competition with teams comprising of an adult and three juniors, including a minimum of one female per team. The winning team at each local qualifying venue will play in the final at Spey Valley and each adult will receive a ticket to this year’s Scottish Open at Gullane and the juniors have free admission.

All finalists will receive a welcome pack on arrival, play nine holes on the Spey Valley Academy Course, have lunch in the players’ marquee, compete in a Skills Challenge, watch a demonstration by two Challenge Tour players before spectating as the Tour players finish their third round at this year’s SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge.

As an incentive to take part at the local venues, each adult will receive a free game of golf at Spey Valley and all the juniors will be invited to the finals day to take part in the Skills Challenge and the Player Demo, as well as enjoy the atmosphere and watch some of the brightest young talent golf has to offer.

Entry forms can be obtained from Junior Convenors across the North of Scotland.
