Joburg Open: Day 3 in numbers

There were Saturday surges aplenty on Moving  Day at the Joburg Open. Here, europeantour.com recaps some of the best of the action...in numbers.

Daniel Im

3 - Players share a two-shot lead over the field at the Joburg Open with just Sunday to come (Zander Lombard, Haydn Porteous and Anthony Wall)

16- Years now since Wall's one and only previous European Tour win, which also happened to come in South Africa at the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Omen?

12- Where the Englishman finished in last year's Open Championship at St Andrews. Wall is in prime position to make a sixth appearance in the oldest tournament in golf thanks to the Open Qualifying Series.

2- Where Wall finished at the Joburg Open last year.

1 - Co-leader Porteous' place in the Driving Distance stat category in 2015, when he averaged more than 327 yards from the tee.

65- Joint low round of the day for Daniel Im and Lombard

20- Age of Lombard, who turns 21 on Monday. The South African has finished fourth and tied 12th in his two starts on The European Tour so far in the 2016 season.

1 - Bogey in 54 holes for Im. The American rookie finished tied eight last week at the BMW SA Open and is this week making his third European Tour start since jointly-topping the Q-School last November.

11 - More shots for overnight leader Ross McGowan on Saturday, but a 73 was enough to keep the Englishman inside the top five heading into Sunday.

Ross McGowan

14- Players within five shots of the lead with 18 holes to come

5- Shots under par Jacques Blaauw was for his last four holes on Saturday after the South African finished birdie-birdie-birdie-eagle.

47- Places Max Orrin jumped on the leaderboard after the Englishman's third round 68 - a bigger Saturday surge than anyone else. Moving Day indeed.
