Jiménez carded rounds of 67-63-67 to finish 19 under par alongside Durant, who carded a final round nine under par to surge up the leaderboard.

On the first extra hole, the par five 18th, Durant reached the green in two and rolled in from 10 feet for eagle, after Jiménez had made birdie, for his second PGA TOUR Champions victory.

Germany’s Bernhard Langer finished tied third on 17 under par after shooting a final round 64.

European Senior Tour member, South African David Frost finished a shot further back on 16 under par, and Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie shared tenth place on 13 under par.

Jiménez, Langer and Montgomerie are just some of a number of European Senior Tour members competing for the US Senior Open Championship at Scioto Country Club.

After his runner-up finish at The Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex, Jiménez will be hoping to go one better as he goes in search of a maiden Senior Major Championship victory.
