Jamieson storms into share of Prague lead

Scott Jamieson picked up four shots in his first five holes to surge into a share of the lead on day three of the D+D Real Czech Masters.

The Scotsman shared the lead heading into the weekend at last week's Nordea Masters and he was at the right end of the leaderboard again at Albatross Golf Resort, making two birdies and an eagle to join Gavin Green at 13 under.

The Malaysian birdied the first in his opening three holes to sit a shot clear of Italian Andrea Pavan and Finn Tapio Pulkkanen, and two clear of three-time Major Championship winner Padraig Harrington, German Alexander Knappe and Belgian Thomas Pieters.

Jamieson is looking for his second European Tour title while a victory on Sunday would make Green Malaysia's first winner on Tour.

A host of early birdies meant the group at ten under was swelling rapidly but Jamieson bypassed it all together, holing a long chip for eagle on the first to get within one of the lead.

The 34 year old then holed a monster putt on the next and after starting the day three back, he was in a tie for the lead after two holes before the leader had teed off.

Playing partner Peter Hanson also made a fast start, taking advantage of the par five opener and then holing from eight feet on the second to get within one.

Knappe had birdied the second and fifth and when he holed a long putt on the seventh - the hole where he made a hole-in-one on Thursday - he was at 11 under.

Irishman Harrington was over the back of the first in two but got up and down beautifully and when Pavan holed a 12-footer on the second, the group a shot off the lead had swelled to five.

That was soon two back as Green got on the first green in two to record an opening birdie.

Pieters holed from 15 feet on the par three third to join the group at 11 under but playing partner Pavan followed him in and he was within one.

Jamieson's hot start continued when he holed from ten feet on the fourth to join the lead but Hanson double-bogeyed the same hole to tumble down the leaderboard.

Pulkkanen holed a long putt on the third and followed it with an 18-footer on the fourth to join Pavan at 12 under, while Green needed smart par saves on the second and third to stay in a share of the lead.

There were 11 players at ten under.

Dane Lucas Bjerregaard and South African JC Ritchie were in the clubhouse at nine under after rounds of 67, alongside Australian Adam Bland, German Maximilian Kieffer and England's Jordan Smith, who signed for a trio of 68s.
