Jaidee reclaims lead in Durban

Thongchai Jaidee took over at the top of the Volvo Golf Champions leaderboard with a brilliant start to his third round.

The former paratrooper from Thailand, one behind Louis Oosthuizen overnight, had birdies at the second and third to advance to 13 under.

With former Open Champion Oosthuizen flying the green at the short second and bogeying, Jaidee was two shots clear after four holes at Durban Country Club.

Home favourite Oosthuizen was alongside Scott Jamieson – who won his first European Tour title in the same city last month – on 11 under.

Winner of the Nelson Mandela Championship presented by ISPS Handa at nearby Royal Durban last month, Jamieson set off again with a bogey after missing the first green, but almost holed-in-one at the 188 yard second and tapped in for birdie.

The rest were some way back, with Frenchman Julien Quesne in fourth on seven under courtesy of a brilliant second to within two feet at the third which set up an eagle.

Jaidee's advantage became three - the same that he held after his opening 65 - when Oosthuizen and Jamieson both failed to get up and down from sand on the 180 yard fourth.

They slipped to ten under and were only one ahead of Quesne, who followed his eagle with birdies at the fifth and sixth.

But then came a bogey on the next for last year's Open de Andalucía winner.
