The second edition of the European Tour Properties Senior Classic will take place at Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort in Balchik, Bulgaria, from September 7-9.
The event will be Lighthouse’s first-ever Staysure Tour event and it will be only the second time that the European Tour has visited Bulgaria.
The course
The par-71 course was designed by 1991 Masters Tournament winner and victorious 2006 European Ryder Cup Captain Ian Woosnam and is at the heart of Cape Kaliakra’s golf coast.
The golfing region is renowned for its superb green landscapes, mesmerising white cliffs and stunning views over the Black Sea.
The testing course combines the wonderful clifftop views with holes winding through the woodland, including a number of challenging par threes. The 164-yard 17th is arguably the most challenging of all, with water protecting the front right-hand side of the green.
The links design features lakes amounting to 33,000m2and offers some of Europe’s most striking coastal views.
The area
Located just an hour from the city of Varna, Lighthouse Golf and Spa Resort is nestled in the centre of Cape Kaliakra’s signature golf coast. It is just five kilometres from the historical town of Balchik and is located on top of the towering cliffs, overlooking the Black Sea.

Cape Kaliakra is a nature reserve where dolphins, aquatic birds and seals can be observed, as well as features such as remnants of fortified walls, water mains and evidence of the short-lived principality of Karvuna’s medieval capital.

The town is known for its many historic and natural tourist attractions, together with an ancient atmosphere which has been preserved for centuries.
