The Portugal Masters raised more than €30,000 for the Official Charity, ACCA Kids, a non-profit charitable organisation helping disadvantaged children across the Algarve.

Nearly €12,000 was collected from donations made by spectators for the tournament programme and daily draw sheets, and that total was matched by the Tour Players Foundation, the charitable arm of The European Tour.

An additional €8,000 was raised from the Pro-Am, where all 40 participating professionals donated their €100 appearance fee and again the Tour Players Foundation matched the total.

The final amount given to ACCA Kids was €31,822, which will significantly help the charity’s quest to provide vital care and support to children across the Algarve with mental, physical and social needs.

The support is provided to individuals and their families directly or via the institutions that deliver the vital care required to improve a child’s quality of life.

Wanda Crawford, President of ACCA Kids, said: "We are delighted with the funds raised for ACCA during the 2013 Portugal Masters.  The grand total raised will be in excess of 30,000 euros, which will make a substantial difference in the lives of the children which ACCA cares for and supports. The final figure has surpassed all our expectations and we again would like to thank everyone for all the support."
