An hour and 34 minutes was lost to storms on day one, meaning 66 players had to return to DLF Golf and Country Club to complete their opening circuit, with Horsey leading the field by one with three to play.

The Englishman parred the 16th and 17th before taking advantage of the par five last from 18 feet on the resumption to card a six under par 66 and sit a shot clear of Italy's Nino Bertasio, who charged through the field.

The Italian was one under having completed 14 holes when play resumed but made birdies on the sixth, seventh and ninth to catapult himself into second place ahead of countryman Matteo Manassero, who had completed his round on Thursday.

Frenchman Romian Langasque joined Horsey in birdieing the last to move to three under alongside Spaniard Carlos Pigem, a bogey-birdie finisher, and England's Eddie Pepperell, another man to get round on Thursday.

Birdieing the last was becoming something of a theme and Scotland's Stephen Gallacher got in on the act to move into a group of 11 players at two under.

Scotsman Scott Jamieson recovered from a double on the 14th and a bogey on the 16th with a birdie-birdie finish to get to two under alongside Germany's Marcel Siem who picked up shots on the seventh and ninth.

Dane Lasse Jensen was another man moving in the right direction, picking up birdies on the 15th and 18th after bogeying the 14th, while Chile's Felipe Aguilar and Englishman Anthony Wall both completed their remaining holes in level par.

France's Grégory Havret had briefly moved to four under with a birdie on the fourth but surrendered a double on the next before going bogey-birdie on the seventh and eighth.

Danny Chia, Paul Peterson, Angelo Que, Steven Tiley and Sam Walker had all been two under overnight after finishing on Thursday.

Spanish duo Jorge Campillo and Nacho Elvira, Thai Jazz Janewattananond and Australian Terry Pilkadaris were then at one under.
