The Open de Bretagne at Golf Blue Green de Pléneuf Val André has been part of the European Challenge Tour schedule since 2007. This year’s edition will be played from 23 - 26 June, 2022.
Pepperell’s maiden win
Eddie Pepperell announced his arrival as a potential star of the future after defeating Jeppe Huldahl on the first play-off hole to secure his maiden professional victory in 2012 in Bretagne. The Englishman didn't have a category on the Challenge Tour but received an invite into the event before going on to claim victory and earn a full Challenge Tour card for the rest of the year.
Singh Brar wins in Pléneuf
Jack Singh Brar secured his maiden Challenge Tour victory with a final round of 67 at Bretagne in 2018. The Englishman posted rounds of 69-65-64-67 to win by three shots clear of Spaniard Adri Arnaus.
Heisele claims first win
Sebastian Heisele claimed his maiden European Challenge Tour title in style, producing a closing 65 to win the 2019 Open de Bretagne at Golf Blue Green de Pléneuf Val-André.
The German started the day with a one-shot lead and remained in control, carding six birdies, including five over his closing nine holes, to finish the week on 13 under par, two shots clear of his nearest challenger Josh Geary.
New Zealander Geary, playing two groups ahead of Heisele, briefly took the lead with an eagle on the 11th hole but the 31-year-old duly responded with birdies on the 10th, 11th and 13th and despite a dropped shot on the 14th hole he parred the 18th to secure his first Challenge Tour victory.
Brun wins on home soil
Frenchman Julien Brun ended a near nine-year wait for his second Challenge Tour victory as he triumphed on home soil at the 2021 Open de Bretagne. The 29-year-old carded a one under par final round of 69 to finish two strokes ahead of compatriot Jérôme Lando-Casanova and American Chase Hanna. His victory came nine years after the 2012 Allianz Golf Open Toulouse Metropole, which he won as an amateur.
