The Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge will take place from July 7-10, 2022. Let's take a look back at some memorable moments at Golf PGA France du Vaudreuil...
Marcel’s return
Marcel Siem returned to the winners’ circle after securing a one-stroke victory at the 2021 Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, and with it a place in The 149th Open Championship.
The 41-year-old, had daughter Victoria by his side all week, birdied two of the last three holes to post a four under par round of 67 to finish one stroke clear of Chilean Hugo Leon to claim a maiden European Challenge Tour title and first professional victory since the 2014 BMW Masters in China.
The German finished in a tie for 15th at The Open after admitting he almost didn’t play at Royal St George's Golf after considering playing on the Challenge Tour that week instead to consolidate his place on the Road to Mallorca.
Rai secures automatic promotion
Aaron Rai capped an incredible six months with a third Challenge Tour victory of the 2017 season at Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, securing himself automatic promotion to the DP World Tour.
The Englishman has gone on to win two DP World Tour events, including the 2020 Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, where he defeated Tommy Fleetwood in a play-off.
Pathway to DP World Tour
Richard McEvoy, who won the event in 2018, followed his win with victory at the 2018 Porsche European Open on the DP World Tour the following week, while 2017 champion Rai has since claimed two victories on the top tier.
Alexander Björk, the 2016 winner, has since won the 2018 Volvo China Open while 2015 winner Ryan Fox went on to represent New Zealand in the Olympic Games and claimed his first DP World Tour title at the 2019 ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth. Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston topped the Rankings in 2014, the year he won at Le Vaudreuil, and picked up his maiden DP World Tour trophy at the 2016 Real Club Valderrama Open de España with a one stroke victory over Joost Luiten.
