Marcus Helligkilde climbed 22 positions into eighth place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings following his scintillating wire-to-wire triumph at the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge, his maiden European Challenge Tour title.
The 24-year-old Dane recorded a season-low 23 under par total on his way to victory at Vierumäki Resort and subsequently sits on 61,291 points in the Road to Mallorca Rankings, leaving him in a strong position to earn European Tour playing rights for the 2022 season. Sweden’s Jesper Svensson finished runner-up in Finland and skyrocketed 125 places into 40th place.
Three-time Challenge Tour winner Espen Kofstad climbed to 14th position on the Rankings following a tie for fourth place at the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge, which included a nine under par round of 63 on the final day.
Spain’s Santiago Tarrio, who last week recorded an outstanding third place finish at the European Tour’s Hero Open, remains in pole position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings on 127,493 points, 52,916 points ahead of Le Vaudreuil Challenge winner Marcel Siem in second place.
Four-time Challenge Tour winner Ricardo Gouveia sits in third place on 71,763 points following his victory at the Italian Challenge, six years after his last triumph at the 2015 NBO Golf Classic Grand Final.
Chase Hanna remains in fourth place on 69,651 points and the American has been in sensational form of late on the European Tour with a tie for sixth place at the Cazoo Open Supported by Gareth Bale followed by a tie for sixth again at last week’s Hero Open. Open de Bretagne winner Julien Brun completes the top five, just 321 points behind Hanna.
