The Frenchman began the day in a four-way tie at the top alongside James Morrison, Lucas Bjerregaard and Gary Stal after posting an opening 70.

But the 40 year old notched an eagle, three birdies and a single bogey in his opening 13 holes on Friday to jump to seven under par and sit alone at the top of the leaderboard.

Paul Dunne and Bjerregaard were Havret's nearest challengers on four under.

After starting his second round with five straight pars, Havret picked up his first shot of the day at the sixth before making another gain at the seventh to get to five under.

The three-time European Tour winner made a stunning start to the back nine, making a birdie at the 11th before firing a superb eagle at the next.

Havret then slipped back to seven under when he carded a bogey at the 13th.

Dunne, who came into the day three shots behind the co-leaders after Thursday's 73, made a birdie at the short second before safely parring the next seven holes to reach the turn in 35.

The Irishman began his back nine in style, carding an eagle at the tenth and a birdie at the next to reach four under.

Bjerregaard, meanwhile, made birdies at the tenth - his first hole - and 12th before dropping his first shot of the day at the 15th.
