Hatton arrives in Texas on a roll

Tyrrell Hatton will be looking to continue his stunning run of recent form when he makes his debut at this week's WGC - Dell Technologies Match Play.

The Englishman had a breakout campaign in 2016, winning the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and finishing second at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai en route to a fourth-placed finish in the Race to Dubai Rankings presented by Rolex.

He has carried that form into 2017, finishing in a tie for third at the Dubai Desert Classic and claiming a first top ten in a WGC event in Mexico.

That has catapulted him to 14th in the Official World Golf Ranking and the safety net of knowing he now has a place in all the biggest events on the European Tour International Schedule.

Despite that success, Hatton is not getting carried away, and is determined to keep working hard and playing well.

"The last eight months for me have been really good," he said. "To see where my name is now in the World Rankings is strange but it's cool and hopefully I keep playing alright.

"I try and go out every week and treat it the same, just try and play as well as I can and thankfully, recently, I've been doing a pretty good job of that.

"This week there is a new challenge, obviously, match play, don't play that too much now in the pros but it's certainly a format that I enjoyed as an amateur so I'm looking forward to this week.

"You want to be playing in the the biggest events so this year for me schedule-wise with all four Majors and the WGCs. I haven't played the US Open or the Masters so that's two to tick off. It's really cool and I'm looking forward to those."

Jeunghun Wang is also playing his first WGC - Match Play this week after winning three times on the European Tour in the last 12 months.

The South Korean is currently ranked 45th in the world and is enjoying the chance to test himself against the best on the planet.

"This is a big event. It's a great opportunity for me and a good experience," he said. "I got a lot of confidence from the three wins. I'm so happy to play with great players."

Jon Rahm and Hideto Tanihara are the other European Tour Members making their debuts this week.
