The 37 year old is competing in the country for the first time since he won the Czech Open in 2010 and he is looking forward to teeing off at Albatross Golf Resort for the first time.

The former Ryder Cup player said: “It feels great to be back here in the Czech Republic.

"It is a different course to the one I won on five years ago, but I played nine holes yesterday and this course is really true and looks like a great golf course.

"It is long - long par threes and par fives - but the condition of the greens is probably among the best we play on Tour.

"So I am really looking forward to this week. Even though it is a different course, it is always nice to come back to a country where you have won.

"It is my first visit to Prague. So far it has been amazing. I took a walk yesterday and saw the famous bridge, which I’ve seen in a lot of movies.

"It is a beautiful city and I am really looking forward to the week.”

Hanson is returning to form following his recovery from a long-standing back injury, and after finishing in a tie for seventh place at the BMW International Open in June, he will hope to make further progress in Prague.

The Swede is confident that he is back to full fitness and is looking forward to playing more rounds in a competitive environment.

He added: "It's been good now for pretty much three or four weeks.

"I've been able to do a bit of practice but I'm just lacking tournament rounds, so this is going to be a great week. It's a beautiful golf course, in great condition.

"I played 15 years on Tour and never had any injuries. It makes you appreciate the Tour life a bit more. I enjoy every week out here.

"I’m still a bit rusty, and my game isn’t quite where I want it to be, but there were signs my game is coming back. I’m really looking forward to getting on a run and playing events from week to week. I’m really enjoying being back out here playing again."

The six-time European Tour winner will get his opening round under way at 12:55 on Thursday, alongside Victor Dubuisson and Thorbjørn Olesen.
