Green Challenge removed from Challenge Tour Schedule

The Green Challenge on the European Challenge Tour, due to be played from July 29-August 1 at Hirsala Golf in Jorvas, Finland, has been postponed.

After the withdrawal of a major sponsor, the promoter felt that it would be in the best interests of all parties to remove the event from the 2010 Challenge Tour Schedule.

Alain de Soultrait, Director of the Challenge Tour, said: “Whilst we are disappointed that the Green Challenge will not be going ahead this year, we respect the decision of the tournament promoters and we hope to stage the event in 2011. Having just added the English Challenge we still have a very strong schedule of events this year, and we look forward to the rest of the season.”

Mikko Keso, of promoters Pulp Management Agency, said: “It is regrettable that we didn’t manage to secure enough financial backing for this year’s Green Challenge. But I’d like to thank the European Challenge Tour for all their support and also the sponsors who had committed to this year’s event, and we look forward to welcoming all the Challenge Tour players to Finland next year.”
