golfx3 made his return to the winner’s circle at the Hero Open with a gutsy win over eTour stalwart fmagnets last time out. golfx3, whose real name is Payton Gordley, will be looking to make it back-to-back wins this week at the BMW PGA Championship and reel in Jsmithers who currently sits at the top of the eTour rankings.

Global Finals Ranking - before PGA21

Gordley was delighted to find his winning form after a difficult start to the season.

“It was good for the confidence - I had a dip for the two first events. I didn't play well, but it felt good to be back with a victory”.

Godley, who has played the WGT game since 2016 will face Canadian tabarnak777, real name Olivier Brabant, in an all North American first round match up.

Brabant, a team manager at a hospital in Montreal, is fully aware of his underdog status heading into his first round match with golfx3.

“Oh boy. Don't expect much. Gordley is one of the three best players in the world. But huge if I win” said Brabant.

The victor will face the either Young46 or 1irony in the semi-finals. 1irony, the youngest player ever to feature on the eTour at 18, has had some time away from the game recently but is looking forward to competing again.

“Super Excited to be back, it has been too long… (I) hope I can do better this time” said 1irony. He continued “I expect to play my best… (I) can't do anything about the other guys' game, so I will just focus on that”.

In the other side of the bracket, BlaisAlex faces pjbhai, whilst birchi will face frenchconnect.

BlaisAlex, real name Alex Blais, is hoping to make an instant impact on the European eTour after claiming the number two seed on his debut appearance at the BMW PGA Championship. He will face off against Pjbhai, another play making their debut this week. Phbhai, real name Prajwal Adiga is from India but is currently studying abroad in Oregon in the United States and is hoping to kickstart his eTour career with a victory.

“I am really excited - I didn't win my bracket, but I got a wild card. I feel really lucky to be here. But the guy who couldn't be here is cheering for me”.

The final first round match will feature birchi, who is no stranger to eTour live events having made five previous appearances. The man from Dusseldorf in Germany, faces frenchconnect in his first-round match as he looks to progress to the semi-final stages for the first time.

The live action will get underway from 6pm BST on Thursday. You can watch it on the European Tour’s Twitter and YouTube Channel, and on WGT’s Facebook and Twitch channels.
